Since we are having identical twins, we know that we’ll either have two boys or two girls. While I will be happy and grateful to have either boys or girls, my heart is just slightly skewed to pink. Ariel is likewise happy with either gender, but he says he is team blue. Ariel’s family are all team pink since all grandkids are boys so far. My parents would be happy with even just one grandchild of any gender. LOL!
It’s TEAM PINK!!!
I had my congenital scan at 22 weeks. Ariel was with me but I was led into the ultrasound room first to get prepped. The doctor knew we are having twins but didn’t know they are identical. I told the doctor that we want to know the gender but to please NOT TELL ME until he has seen both babies. Well, he didn’t listen to me. He immediately checked the gender – even before Ariel got into the room – and told me that the first baby is a girl. I was upset that he didn’t listen to my instructions, but was ecstatic to have a girl! Then he checked the second baby and told me it’s also a girl! But of course!!! Then I asked them to please call my husband because I don’t want him to miss the whole thing. Anyway, he came in and I had to tell him that it’s team pink, for the win!!! I cried happy tears. Haha!
The doctor proceeded with all the measurements, and I had to ask him halfway if he is really sure of the genders. So he took time to show us again – this time Ariel was there to see, and confirmed that both are girls.
So there, my Pinterest boards are filled with greys and pinks (our nursery’s theme is grey, white and pink), and I have started dreaming of beautiful bows, tutus, ruffled dresses, mani and pedi with my girls.
Update: We had another ultrasound at week 26. This time, it was done by my OB, Dra. Regina Manahan. I asked her to check gender again, and she confirmed we are having girls. Woohoo!
