I finally started on my Journaling Bible and I began with the cover page. Using a calligraphy pen and a Zebra G Nib, I wrote my name in walnut ink. I messed up the flourish on the Y and it drove me nuts. For a split second. But I took a deep breath, reminded myself that perfection is not the goal. In fact, I knew that messing up the pages on this journaling Bible is likely, but whats more important is digesting the words that the Holy Spirit will give me. So I forgave myself for that mistake and moved on. Whew!
Other than the writing, I also colored the background with chalk and some stencils. I love the resulting look.
I also added some stamped images and colored the house with Prismacolor Pencils.
After working on the cover, I also added the tabs. Again, it was imperfect and I have to admit, for a while I thought of taking all of those stickers off, but it might tear off the edges of the Bible and that will drive me even crazier. Again, I took a deep breath and just went with it.
Now I’m ready to start this journey! Bring it on!
