First, let me backtrack to last summer. Normally, we head off to a tropical island somewhere to enjoy the sun, surf and sand. Last year, however, we went somewhere cold and chose to don our fleece-lined jackets instead of our swim wear. So, by end of the year, we were craving the feel of sand in between our toes. So we heeded the call of the Philippines’ 7,107 islands and headed off to Palawan for a spur of the moment island getaway. I have yet to blog about that, but we stayed in a lovely place called Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort in Sabang, Puerto Princesa. We love the place and have decided this can be our annual post-Christmas escape. However, the opportunity to return called sooner so we are heading back to Daluyon early May. Can’t wait!

But before that, we will be visiting Siargao for our 11th anniversary this April. Ariel and I haven’t been there so we are thrilled to explore what this place has to offer us. The first half of our trip will be all about exploration and discovery. We will be staying in this resort, a simple accommodation to relax in after a full day of traveling and adventure-seeking. Imagine swimming in a lake filled with stingless jellyfish similar to what Palau has to offer (so yes, we don’t need to leave the country to get that experience), or jumping off a cliff to explore a lagoon (I am hoping the cliff isn’t that high). The second half of our trip will be more relaxed and luxurious so we will transfer to this resort. The plan is to just soak in the pool, walk by the beach, get a massage and eat a lot of seafoods.

Can’t wait!
