I can’t believe it’s been a full year! 52 weeks of gratitude posts – it gets easier and easier. I intend to do it again in the next 52 weeks. So anyway, here’s my gratitude list for the week.

Christmas Day – The annual girls vs. boys family games (the girls won!)

I am thankful for the gift of salvation, packaged in a small baby born in a manger over two thousand years ago. Jesus Christ is the reason we have Christmas and I am thankful.

I am thankful for family. I am thankful that each year, we get to celebrate Christmas with the people that matter the most to us.

I am thankful for safe travels. Ariel and I got to spend a few days in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. It’s Ariel’s second visit and my first. The weather had been gloomy but God granted us a bright sunny day on our scheduled tour of the underground river. Thank you Lord for this gift.

I am thankful for the natural wonders around us. They remind us every single day that God is alive.

Monito Lizard at the Underground River National  Park

I am thankful for life’s adventures, the ups and downs, the sharp turns and unexpected corners. They make us stronger and wiser. They make us feel alive.

I am thankful for the time to rest and recharge at the end of a busy year.

I am thankful for food on our table, roofs over our head, a soft pillow to rest on, nice clothes to wear. Many of our countrymen are not as fortunate.

I am thankful for the opportunity to share our blessings. Nothing feels sweeter than giving to those who are in need. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness this past 2011. Your grace is sufficient for us.

Hope your Christmas had been wonderful and praying for an even better 2012. Happy weekend!
