|Flight from Cebu City to Davao City|
This week, I flew to two cities for work. Flying excites me. I marvel at man’s ingenuity that allowed us to experience the wonders of flying. The view of the sea of clouds while we cruise 30,000 kilometers above sea level is always a visual feast for me. It’s awesome. It’s beautiful. Add to that the opportunity to see and experience new places – priceless. But the thought of defying gravity, and the reality of man’s (alright, and woman’s) limitations plus his/her propensity to make mistakes also make me feel apprehensive specially as we zoom across that runway for take off and as we descend for landing. In addition, turbulence is an unpleasant experience and something I always pray not to encouter. Flying scares me! The thought of being aware of one’s iminent death as an aircraft plunges to the earth, no matter how slim that chance is, can be paralyzing. I think I watch too many Nat Geo or Discovery Channel shows. Anyway, I am thankful for safe travels. I am thankful that our God is big enough to be with me as I go to different places. I know that His angels are around me, protecting me, and keeping me safe as a fly across the ocean, cruise through the busy streets of any city, walk through narrow walkways across an urban poor settlement, or anywhere my feet will take me. And I am thankful that I get to travel and see the world – the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am so blessed.
And the best part of traveling…coming home. I am thankful to have a place to come home to, with a loving husband waiting for me.
Finally, I am thankful for all the months that Ariel and I have been together. Happy 151st monthsary to my partner in crime today!
Looking forward to a fabulous weekend. I hope yours will be great, too!
