I learned that writing down my gratitude list at the end of each day is the best way for me to remember things I am grateful for. Writing it down at the end of each week makes it difficult for me to remember everything, especially if along the way, I experience some difficulty which make me feel like I have less, if not nothing, to be thankful for. Of course I know that I should give thanks in every circumstance, it’s just difficult to do so under some circumstances. So anyway, this week is one of those “difficult weeks”. I remember having a photo shoot on Saturday and I am thankful for yet another opportunity. It’s also a few days before my birthday and hubby advanced my gift tonight. I am thankful for the gift, but even more so for the person who gave it to me. He has held my hands through my life’s ups and downs and I am truly grateful that God gave him to me.

However, I did experience some setbacks later this week that made it difficult to remember the little blessings I received throughout the week. So, while my heart is heavy with some normal life’s setbacks and my mind is finding it difficult to dig through the turmoil to find the little things I am thankful for, here is what my the Holy Spirit led me to say:

1 Chronicles 29:11-13
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength
and power to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.”
