We had another gathering at home last Saturday. Ate Eileen’s family, sans the hubby, Jay, and youngest son, Jay (who were already back in the US), joined us for merienda. Also with us were my German ninong, Peter, his wife, ate Fe, and kids, Sharon and David. My parents, brother and sis-in-law also dropped by. We had pansit and bbq. This time, they stayed a bit longer and we had a good chat. It’s always a blessing to be surrounded by friends.
Sunday night, we bumped into my colleague and former boss, Diggy, and ended up joining them for dinner. He is one of the best bosses I’ve had in my 15 years (wow, has it been that long?!) in the corporate world. I am thankful for the opportunity to have a light dinner with him and his family (with a bit of chat about work). I am thankful for the job that I have that allows me to form not just professional relationships, but rewarding friendships as well.
I was awakened early Tuesday morning by an earthquake. I have to admit earthquakes terrify me. I am thankful that no one was hurt and that it was a quick one.
I am also thankful that we were spared from the wrath of typhoon Juaning. Many of our countrymen were not as fortunate, and I pray for their safety. May the Lord provide for them in this time of need.
This week, I had dinner with my two best girl friends, Jo-Ann and Michelle. Jo-Ann is my cousin and we practically grew up together, but now that we each have our own family, we hardly see each other, or go out together without the rest of our clan. Michelle, on the other hand, has been a friend for more than 20 years. She was Jo-Ann’s church mate and I met her when I was still in high school during a visit to my cousin’s Church. We became close friends during our University days, and were each other’s maid-of-honor in our weddings – together with Charmaine, another dear friend who has gone home to be with the Lord (I miss her). So anyway, we decided to meet up and have dinner on a week night, without the hubbies. It was fun! We haven’t done it in about a decade. There’s so much to talk about but we had so little time, so we promised to do it again, and to do it regularly. Girl friends are the best!
We also had a Photography Club meeting. I met with Ralph and Abie for dinner an hour before our official meeting. Always great to catch up, in a very relaxed atmosphere. One week left before our first workshop for the year. So excited. A few of my colleagues are attending. Praying that it will be a successful event and that people will be blessed.
Have a great weekend everyone! God bless us all!
