I can’t believe it’s already week 10 since 2011 started. It’s amazing how God never runs out of ways to bless us.

For this week, I am thankful for a couple of things:

We finally had our Visa Application appointment for our planned trip to Europe next month. We encountered some glitches but it was easily ironed out. We were scheduled for 11:20am on Friday, March 11th at the UK Visa Application center (VFS Global) but decided to go on Thursday at 7am as walk in applicants. The process was quick and by 8am, I was happily eating breakfast in my office. Now all we have to do is wait for news of approval. I thank the Lord that our documents were complete. I thank Him just for this opportunity to plan for a trip, for the blessings that allowed us to consider a vacation in Europe. Our next appointment is on April 4 at the French Embassy for our Schengen Visa. Again, I just trust the Lord for His perfect will.

I also thank the Lord for some new photography toys. I have a new camera, a new lens to play with, and a new camera strap. I am also thankful that we found buyers for our old camera which allowed us to fund the purchase of our new gear.

I am also very thankful for my photography class. I thank Him for the learning I’m getting out of my  class. I thank him for the amazing lessons, the wonderful teacher, and the new friends I’ve found online.

On Friday afternoon, the world was shocked to hear about and see the devastation in Japan. I am thankful that we are safe here – for now. As much as it scares me to even imagine experiencing an earthquake of that magnitude, I know it is inevitable. The Bible tells us that as the time of Christ’s coming draws near, there will be wars and rumors of wars and natural calamities. All of these things are already happening. So I thank God that in the midst of civil and political unrest, earthquakes, tsunamis, and other scary events, we have an assurance of salvation, and eternal life with Him in heaven.

Happy weekend everyone!
