It was Valentine’s Day last Monday. Did we celebrate? Not in the way most people would think. You see, I am a firm believer that two people who are in love should celebrate every single day. And Valentine’s Day is no more special than a regular Monday. So we opted to stay clear of the crowded restaurants and just spent time together, watching a movie in the comfort of our own bedroom. I also told Ariel not to give me flowers. Don’t get me wrong. I love flowers! I love it when Ariel gives me a bouquet. And I wouldn’t mind getting one every week. I love it when I fill our house with blooms. However, on Valentine’s Day, flowers are ridiculously over-priced. So, I asked Ariel if he can buy me a dress instead. Not that it will be cheaper. Only more value for money. LOL! So anyway, aside from Valentine’s Day last Monday, it is our 142nd Monthsary TODAY! Happy monthsary honey!
Last Sunday, we attended the morning service at our Church and the pastor talked about 1 Corinthians 13. Yes, it’s all about Love. Aside from the usual talk on what love is, I like that the pastor talked about the “PERMANENCE OF LOVE”. I never quite understood the last few verses of that chapter, but last Sunday, it became crystal clear. So I thank God for that insight. And I thank God for the gift of love, for loving me unconditionally, for surrounding me with people who love me and people I love, and for giving me my lifetime partner whom I promised to love and to hold til death do us part.
Last Tuesday, my dad underwent a minor surgical procedure to remove a small cyst on his upper back. I praise God that the surgery went well without any complications. I thank God for providing the means for my family to get good medical care. I thank God for my parents’ health despite their age, for sustaining them physically as they age, and for providing for all of their needs. I thank God for giving them to me and my brother as a constant source of love from the time we were conceived until now that we have left the nest. I also thank God for all our friends, family, brothers and sisters in Christ who prayed with us during that procedure. I am amazed at the outpouring of love and concern. We are truly one family in God.
Happy weekend!
